1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let a site remember your preferences, keep you signed in, or help us understand how the site is used. This policy explains which cookies we use on freeverse.co.za and how you can control them, in line with POPIA and, for visitors in the EU/UK, the GDPR and ePrivacy rules.

We don't set any analytics cookies until you've made a choice. You can change your mind at any time using the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer of every page.

3. Cookies we use

4. Google Analytics & Consent Mode

We use Google's Consent Mode, so Google Analytics only stores cookies and collects analytics data on your device once you've actively opted in via the banner or preferences panel. If you reject or haven't yet responded, analytics storage stays denied. Google may still receive basic, cookie-less "pings" used for aggregate modelling; see Google's cookie information for details on how Google handles this data.

5. Managing or withdrawing consent

You can change your analytics preference at any time by clicking "Cookie Settings" in the footer of any page on this site. You can also clear cookies and site data directly through your browser settings, which will reset your stored preference and show the banner again on your next visit.

6. Other technologies

The savings calculator and contract signing simulation on this site don't set their own cookies; any data you choose to submit through those tools is handled as described in our Privacy Policy, not through cookies.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. We'll update the "last updated" date above whenever we do, and material changes will be reflected here.
