1. Who we are

Free Verse Tech (Pty) Ltd ("Free Verse", "we", "us") operates the freeverse.co.za website and platform, connecting independent hair care and beauty brands with creators in South Africa. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and how we protect it, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with the site, we may collect:

• Savings calculator: your brand name, contact email, and the campaign figures you enter (number of creators managed, average payment per creator, agency commission rate), if you choose to share your estimate with us.
• Contract signing simulation: a brand/campaign name, your email address, the terms you edited in the simulated contract, and the short feedback survey (a 1–5 rating and optional comment) you complete after "signing".
• Waitlist and demo forms: name, email, and links to your social profiles or company details, depending on which form you submit.
• Automatically collected data: standard analytics data (pages visited, approximate location, device/browser type) via Google Analytics, only if you've opted in via our cookie banner — see our Cookie Policy for details and how to change your choice.

3. Why we collect it

• To send you a copy of your simulated contract as a PDF by email.
• To follow up about our private pilot, demo bookings, or the creator waitlist.
• To understand demand and pain points — e.g. how much brands currently pay in agency commission — so we can improve the product.
• To measure and improve how our site is used.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.

4. Legal basis for processing

Where you submit a form, calculator estimate, or simulated contract, you are providing your information voluntarily and with consent (e.g. by ticking the relevant checkbox before submitting). Where we process analytics data, we rely on our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the site, balanced against your privacy rights.

5. Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to operate the site. Each only receives the data it needs to do its job:

• Supabase — stores form submissions, calculator estimates, and simulated-contract feedback in a secure database.
• Resend — our transactional email provider, used solely to deliver the contract PDF and related emails from hello@freeverse.co.za.
• Google Analytics — standard website usage analytics.

We do not share your personal information with any other third party for their own marketing purposes.

6. How long we keep it

We retain calculator estimates, contract simulation data, and feedback for as long as reasonably necessary to follow up on your interest in the pilot, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first.

7. Your rights

Under POPIA, you have the right to:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct or delete that information.
• Object to further processing, or withdraw consent at any time.
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa if you believe your rights have been infringed.

8. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards — including encrypted connections, access controls, and row-level security on our database — to protect your information from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. No system is perfectly secure, and we continue to improve our practices as the platform grows.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as the product evolves. We'll update the "last updated" date above whenever we do, and material changes will be reflected here.
